What is carbon offsetting?
Carbon offsetting means paying someone to reduce CO2 in the atmosphere by the same amount that your activities add. In this way you can ‘neutralise’ or ‘balance’ the CO2 added by your activities.
Calor are working with a DEFRA-recognised, not for profit organisation called Equiclimate, who will offset CO2 emissions by buying carbon allowances from a number of countries so that they are forced to produce less carbon. This means that carbon starts getting cut straight away.
Visit the Calor carbon offset shop to buy offset credits using your credit or debit card. These funds will then be used by Equiclimate to purchase carbon allowances. You will in turn receive a Calor Carbon Offset certificate showing the amount of gas you have offset and a sticker to attach to your patio heater.
So, you can take steps to reduce your ‘carbon footprint’ by using your patio heater responsibly, and offsetting what remains using the Calor Carbon Offset Programme.
